As a Manager, Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions that support Starbucks engineering teams. As a Manager, Engineering, you will… Lead engineering operations and reliability – Oversee system configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and support to ensure stability and performance Enable development teams – Partner closely with engineers to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support build and release processes Drive operational excellence – Lead Incident, Change, Release, and Problem Management practices while implementing monitoring and alerting solutions Ensure secure and compliant systems – Deliver solutions aligned with security, architecture, and regulatory standards (e.g., PCI, SOX) Automate and scale – Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability Lead and develop a high-performing team – Coach and manage engineers, driving engagement, growth, and strong team performance Collaborate across teams and vendors – Build strong cross-functional partnerships and manage external partners to achieve business outcomes We’d love to hear from people with: 8–10 years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations 5+ years managing complex systems or application development projects  3–5 years leading or managing technical teams  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field  Experience with cloud or highly virtualized environments  Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools  Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, load balancing, firewalls, proxies) Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go  Experience leading front-end application development for customer- or partner-facing digital products, including responsive, accessible, and high-performing user interfaces Knowledge of mobile application development technologies and patterns, including Swift, iOS, mobile UI frameworks, and platform-specific design standards Ability to guide engineering teams through user experience, interface architecture, performance optimization, and quality practices for modern front-end and mobile applications Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver in a fast-paced environment  As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits.
