Position
Overview: The BMS Lead is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated digital building platforms across the portfolio. This role takes a holistic view of “Smart Systems,” encompassing technology infrastructure, ICT (Information & Communications Technology), and all software systems used in day-to-day building operations and service delivery. The BMS Lead will drive innovation, operational excellence, and user experience, ensuring the portfolio is recognized as a leader in smart building management. The role includes policy development, governance, reporting, and the advancement of digital transformation from legacy infrastructure to next-generation systems in line with Client Policies Key Responsibilities: Lead the digital transformation of building systems, migrating from legacy infrastructure to smart building operations, and contribute to the digital buildings program for the portfolio. Develop frameworks, communications, and processes to connect teams and stakeholders, ensuring achievement of set targets for digital building initiatives. Partner with business departments to identify system improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of enhancements. Translate operational vision and building needs into digital building briefs, implementation roadmaps, and success measurement criteria. Develop and implement policies and processes for the effective management and delivery of Smart Systems. Plan and deliver the Smart Systems Development Plan, including piloting and promoting new hardware and software solutions. Manage all aspects of building ICT networks, infrastructure partners, and digital interfaces. Assist in the development of digital standards and manage ICT policy, ensuring compliance and best practices. Regularly audit and record all owned hardware, software, and associated licensing. Support site-critical MES enhancement projects, including hardware upgrades, process streamlining, architecture upgrades, project delivery, and testing coordination. Oversee software and data maintenance for computer systems used in development, testing, and operations. Understand manufacturing processes and system configurations to make informed recommendations for optimal system setup. Support software and configuration for external system interfaces, including LMS, FAS, and BMS software tools. Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for managing critical environments and ensure site compliance. Understand engineering design and operational aspects of facility systems and equipment, recognizing system shortcomings and responding to operational and emergency situations. Manage the transition from hardware deployment to software integration, including mapping building system points and data into cloud systems. Extend building ontology and integrate metadata for enhanced system interoperability. Define and validate connections between upper and lower-level systems for use within integrated data platforms. Onboard buildings and systems into the central data system, ensuring data is live and usable. Provide regular updates to technical support services and vendor partners on building/system status.
