We provide the resources, inspiration and focus—if you have the passion and courage to dream big, then we want to build a better tomorrow with you.   Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level 4 Systems Engineer to support the design and implementation of advanced Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) solutions at our Fairfax, VA facility. The role involves applying rigorous systems engineering and reliable and secured networking techniques, ensuring compliance with industry standard development assurance guidelines, and delivering high reliability navigation capabilities for our commercial customers. The successful candidate has extensive systems engineering domain experience and strong integration, verification and validation experience.  Major responsibilities are: Systems Engineering Support – System Engineering support for requirement non-compliance impact assessments and resolution approach definition, change in policy analysis and impact assessments, fault tree analysis, performance analysis, routine document maintenance, security uplift tracking, ERB logistics, etc.  Systems Engineering support to produce artifacts (requirements documents, design material, safety related material, performance and Hazardously Misleading Information (HMI) analysis reports, Site Installation Plans (SIP), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) reports, test plans, procedures, verification, and reports). Support to relevant program working groups. Support for issue tracking, resolution and escalation. Technical coordination with task owners to ensure proper tracking and management.    Cross Disciplinary Coordination - System Engineering support to work through issues/blockers across the team.  Support program management to bridge technical and programmatic needs as required. Support to internal/external meetings as required.   The information below includes the standard job description for this position:   Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT. Basic Qualifications 
 Expert level PNT/GNSS domain experience (or other similar algorithmically intensive and safety of life systems) System SEIT experience of complex SW/HW systems  Able to communicate in written and verbal form in a virtual, global team Proven ability to brief design details and challenges to Engineering Chiefs, PMO, and up to Program Director level as necessary Desired Skills 
 SBAS experience Experience with Assurance Standards – Apply SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, RTCA DO 178C, DO 278A, and/or DO 254 as appropriate to ensure safety, reliability, and airworthiness.
