Agency: M+P Job Function: Media Job Subfunction: Media Planning and Buying Job Description: As an Assistant Media Planner at Merkley + Partners, you will play a crucial role in supporting the media planning team in developing and executing strategic media plans to effectively reach target audiences and achieve client objectives. You will work closely with the Media Planner to ensure seamless integration of media strategies with overall campaign goals.

Responsibilities

Assist in researching target demographics, market trends, and media opportunities to inform media planning strategies. Support the development of comprehensive media plans, including media objectives, strategies, tactics, and budget allocations. Collaborate with Media Planners to negotiate and purchase media placements across various channels, including digital, print, broadcast, out-of-home, and emerging media platforms. Coordinate with media vendors and partners to secure optimal placement opportunities and negotiate competitive rates. Assist in the preparation of client presentations, media proposals, and campaign performance reports. Monitor and analyze media performance metrics, such as reach, frequency, GRPs, CPMs, and ROI, to evaluate campaign effectiveness and optimize future strategies. Stay updated on industry trends, media technologies, and consumer behavior to identify new opportunities for innovation and optimization. Provide administrative support, including maintaining media schedules, organizing campaign documentation, and managing billing and invoicing processes. Contribute to cross-functional collaboration and brainstorming sessions to develop integrated marketing solutions that align with client objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field. Previous internship or work experience in media planning, advertising, or marketing preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate ideas and present findings effectively.
