Join our Team About us Ericsson is opening a new R&D center in Yokohama focused on Radio and Software development. This hub will support major Japanese carriers, partner with local vendors, and deliver Japan-driven products for networks worldwide. We're hiring across experience levels — from early-career engineers to senior technical leaders — while building out the team, labs, and offices.
What you'll do
Configure base stations and radio/baseband nodes per verification specs and EMC standards (emission/immunity) Plan, run, and document internal EMC verification; coordinate external accredited lab certification Operate RF instrumentation, run RF measurements and digital signal analysis Troubleshoot failures, do root-cause analysis, support product teams and customers Contribute to test method/tooling/automation development, including prep for future gen (6G) Advise product design teams early on compliance to reduce rework and speed market access Skills you bring We're looking for experienced/senior engineers ready for technical leadership. Degree in EE, CS, Data Science, or related field (BSc/MSc or equivalent) Knowledge of baseband/radio product concepts and standards (3GPP/ETSI/CE/FCC) Ability to read and apply EMC standards in test setups Strong RF measurement skills and RF instrument experience Proven troubleshooting and methodical problem-solving Test method design and test environment setup experience Familiarity with 3GPP specs (NR/LTE) and verification needs Strong communication and teamwork with dev/product engineering teams Comfortable in Lean/Agile processes, driving continuous improvement Result-driven, service-minded, quality-focused Fluent in English; Japanese collaboration ability is a strong plus Nice to have: programming for test automation/tooling, regulatory experience, practical base station/radio/baseband/wireless system experience, standards-body experience (3GPP/ETSI/ANSI/FCC), experience coordinating third-party lab testing.
