As a Facilities Engineer at TI, you'll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI's manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Job Overview

Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced DIW Water & Wastewater Engineer to join the Central Engineering Team. This role focuses entirely on higher-value engineering, cross-site standardization, systemic technical problem-solving, new technology evaluation & deployment, scalable continuous improvement, and regional strategy execution across TI Asia sites. The engineer delivers advanced technical support and drives technical evolution for 24/7 running process water utility systems including DIW/UPW, reclaim/reuse, industrial wastewater (IWW) and STP systems. The role is centered on technical standardization, reliability roadmap execution, cross-site best practice replication, and new technology study & industrialization, fully aligned with FOF and Asia Strategy Solutions team’s long-term technical development objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Discipline Technical Depth & Cross-Site Standardization • Build strong technical depth within the water discipline and ensure consistent technology execution and standardized engineering standards across all sites. • Centralize technical knowledge, failure analysis data, and lesson-learned databases to replace localized site practices with enterprise-level best practices. • Conduct regular system technical assessments, FMEA reliability analysis, and risk evaluation to develop long-term discipline reliability roadmaps and mitigate latent systemic risks. • Collaborate closely with the Asia Strategy Solutions team to align local engineering activities with regional strategic priorities, utility system roadmap, technical innovation targets, and cross-site improvement initiatives. • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, elevate overall discipline technical competency, and support country-level engineering capability development. • Clarify role boundaries and technical handoffs between Central Engineering and site Operations teams for troubleshooting, escalation workflows, and improvement initiatives. 2. Advanced Technical Support & Operational Excellence • Serve as the central technical subject matter expert (SME) for Provide high-level technical engineering support for full spectrum of water systems: UF, coagulation/flocculation, STP/IWW treatment, RO, degasification, Mixed Bed/EDI, UV polishing loops, chemical dosing, neutralization, and water reclaim/reuse processes. • Support advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical resolution for complex system upsets, parameter excursions, and recurring process alarms, eliminating systemic issues instead of handling routine operational tasks. • Establish and manage system performance dashboards to track key operational metrics, drive continuous reliability improvement, and reduce recurring system deviations. 3. New Technology Study, Evaluation & Industrial Application • Conduct industry benchmarking, technical research, and feasibility study for emerging water treatment, purification, and wastewater recycling new technologies. • Evaluate new equipment, advanced treatment media, innovative chemical formulations, and optimized process philosophies for potential fab implementation. • Perform technical comparison, cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and pilot study planning
