About this role
TikTok LIVE is a core part of TikTok’s ecosystem, focused on building real-time, interactive experiences that connect creators, users, and communities at scale. The business aims to foster a healthy and sustainable live content ecosystem by empowering creators, enhancing user engagement, and enabling meaningful interactions through diverse live content formats.
Our global team operates in a highly cross-functional environment, working closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Policy, and regional market teams. Key focus areas include creator growth and support, live content strategy and operations, user engagement and retention, platform governance, and scalable operational execution. The team combines global vision with strong localization capabilities to adapt strategies to different markets while maintaining consistent platform standards. We're a fast-growing, impact-driven team that values ownership, strategic thinking, and data-informed decision-making. You'll drive high-impact initiatives across content strategy, vertical operations, and creator ecosystem growth, directly shaping platform engagement and business outcomes. As a Project Intern, you will contribute to impactful short-term projects and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical skills, apply your knowledge to real-world challenges, and explore your career interests. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early.
Responsibilities The Creator Manager intern will own and grow a portfolio of top-tier LIVE creators, helping them build sustainable, professional careers on LIVE. This role combines relationship management, performance analysis, strategic coaching, and hands-on creator support.
You will develop a deep understanding of each creator’s content, audience, monetization, and goals; identify their biggest growth opportunities; and work directly with creators to test strategies that improve revenue, engagement, audience growth, and LIVE activity.
Key Responsibilities Creator Relationship Management - Build strong, trusted relationships with a portfolio of top LIVE creators. - Conduct regular 1:1s to understand creators’ goals, challenges, motivation, and feedback.
Performance Analysis & Coaching - Monitor creator performance across key metrics including revenue, LIVE duration, traffic, engagement, gifter conversion, ARPPU, and retention. - Identify strengths and areas for improvement to develop individualized coaching plans based on each creator’s performance and goals. - Diagnose significant changes in revenue, streaming hours, traffic, or audience behavior and develop recovery plans.
Growth Strategy & Experimentation - Partner with creators to develop and test new strategies across content, traffic, engagement, monetization, and retention. - Help creators develop stronger LIVE formats, recurring programming, characters, gameplay, and audience interactions. - Design measurable experiments, track results, and identify which strategies should be iterated, scaled to additional creators, or added to the broader creator playbook. - Identify best practices from top-performing creators and translate them into actionable strategies for the broader creator ecosystem.
What Success Looks Like A successful Creator Manager: - Knows their LIVE creators deeply—not just their metrics, but their content, audience, goals, and challenges. - Proactively identifies performance issues and opportunities rather than waiting for creators to ask for help. - Uses data to develop specific, actionable coaching recommendations. - Builds enough trust that creators openly share challenges and feedback. - Consistently runs experiments and turns successful learnings into repeatable playbooks. - Helps creators increase revenue, LIVE activity, audience growth, engagement, and long-term retention.
