Team / division overview The COO Division is responsible for enabling DWS’s global business through Technology, Operations, Data, Infrastructure, Change and Control functions. As part of its strategic operating model, DWS is establishing a new COO Technology & Operations hub in Madrid to enhance delivery capacity, strengthen operational resilience, provide access to high-quality talent and create a cost-efficient nearshore centre supporting global priorities. The Head of Technology and Operations, Spain will be responsible for building and leading this new hub, establishing a scalable and high-performing organisation that supports Operations and Technology delivery across DWS. The role will drive operational excellence, governance, talent development, automation, innovation and AI-enabled ways of working, while acting as the senior COO representative in Spain and ensuring alignment with global business objectives. Your responsibilities – As our Head of Technology and Operations, Spain (Spain Delivery Centre Site Head) you will: Establish, lead and scale the COO Technology & Operations hub in Madrid, ensuring long-term success and alignment with global COO objectives. Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the Spain delivery centre, supporting DWS's operating model and growth ambitions. Build a centre of excellence for Technology and Operations delivery, driving innovation, automation and AI-enabled solutions. Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and employee engagement. Lead the recruitment, development and retention of talent across Technology and Operations functions. Build and develop a strong leadership team, succession plans and future leadership pipeline. Partner with senior stakeholders across Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, HR, Finance, Legal and Change functions globally. Ensure effective integration of the Madrid hub into the wider DWS organisation and operating model. Maintain a strong governance, risk and control framework aligned to DWS and regulatory requirements. Drive operational resilience, regulatory readiness and effective management of audit, compliance and risk activities. Manage budgets, resources and capacity planning to deliver strategic objectives efficiently and cost-effectively. Establish and monitor performance metrics, KPIs and governance processes to measure delivery and operational effectiveness.
