THE ROLE
As an MTS Product Development Engineer focused on Product Definition, you will play a key role in shaping AMD's next-generation high-performance semiconductor products. You will work at the interface of design, product management and systems, helping transform market needs into actionable engineering requirements. This position is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with a passion for defining cutting-edge products in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Your contribution will ensure AMD continues to push the limits of innovation and delivers solutions that meet diverse customer demands across computing, data centers, and immersive technologies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Definition : Own post silicon power/performance attainment by analyzing silicon characterization data to optimize power, performance, yield and quality. This includes laying out the key milestone plan and timelines for power attainment through the development phases of a product life cycle. Define test points based on bounding box requirements. Collaboration Across Teams : Interface with system architects, design teams, automated test engineering (ATE), systems level teams (SLT) and platform teams to identify trade-offs and align products with use cases to meet customer expectations. Feature Prioritization : Balance performance, cost, power, and area considerations to optimize deliverables for various customer verticals. Risk Assessment and Mitigation : Monitor, assess, and document development risks while proposing solutions to minimize impact on timelines and product outcomes. AI Adoption : Experiment with AI tools to drive improved efficiency and effectiveness.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Good analytical skills and proficiency with engineering data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, Python, SQL, Power BI, or equivalent platforms. Experience in charz analysis, statistical modeling, guardband optimization, and data-driven decision making. Understanding of power parameters like leakage IDDQ, AC capacitance etc. Proven experience in analyzing silicon power/characterization data to establish product operating limits, specifications, and production guardbands. In depth understanding of semiconductor test methodologies and DFT features including SCAN, MBIST, JTAG, and CREST. Proven ability to work across Design, Test, Quality, Reliability, Platform, and other cross functional teams to drive issue resolution and product improvement. Experience presenting technical findings and risk assessments to
