Job Summary
Reporting to Senior Director, International Tax oversee Allegion’s income and transaction taxes in Canada ensuring compliance with all tax laws. Role includes all tax compliance, tax reporting and tax controversy efforts in Canada. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual income tax accounting under US GAAP.
What You Will Do
Trusted business partner for all Canadian businesses serving as the main point of contact between Canadian business and tax advisors/corporate tax team Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of all Canadian income tax filings Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual US GAAP income tax provisions for all Canadian entities including maintenance of monthly income tax account reconciliations Provide Canadian indirect tax technical support to Canadian businesses and Allegion’s indirect tax team Manage all Canadian tax audits Maintain Canadian tax calendar Provide support to the corporate tax team in preparation of Allegion’s Canadian transfer pricing reports and related documentation Based on availability, support corporate tax team on US tax compliance, global income tax accounting, business restructurings, mergers and acquisitions and special projects Monitor all relevant tax legislation and provide guidance relating to new tax laws Support local business and build strong business relationships with team members at various levels of the organization What You Need to Succeed: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting or Finance required At least 5 years’ experience in a multi-national corporate tax environment and/or equivalent Big Four public accounting role CPA or equivalent qualification required Required skills: Basic Microsoft Office Preferred skills: GL experience with Hyperion, TaxPrep and OneSource Tax provision software Strong business acumen, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines Canadian tax experience, including income taxes and indirect taxes Experience with tax research and ability to communicate tax law to both tax and non-tax professionals Knowledge and experience with US GAAP accounting for income taxes.
