General description of role: The Data & Analytics Engineer is a key member of the AUM Insights (AUMI) team, responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, transformation processes and analytical data assets that support AUM's reporting, analytics and decision-making requirements. The role focuses primarily on data engineering and data platform activities, ensuring data is ingested, transformed, validated and made available for reporting, analytics and operational use. Working across Databricks and related data platforms and technologies, the Data & Analytics Engineer develops and maintains reliable data pipelines, curated datasets and data products that enable business reporting and analytics, while also supporting the delivery of Power BI datasets and dashboards. The role is expected to develop a strong understanding of the AUM data landscape, reporting requirements and key business processes, building high-quality, scalable data solutions that support stakeholders across Underwriting, Operations, Finance and Leadership teams Job responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation processes using Databricks and related technologies. Build, manage and optimise Bronze, Silver and Gold layer datasets to support reporting, analytics and operational use cases. Develop reusable ETL/ELT frameworks, ingestion pipelines and transformation logic for structured and semi-structured data. Configure, schedule and monitor data workflows, ensuring reliable and timely delivery of data products. Implement incremental loading, data orchestration and performance optimisation techniques across data pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks and data integrity issues. Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of AUM's data platform and engineering capabilities. Develop and maintain analytical data models that support reporting, analytics and business decision-making. Design and maintain curated, reporting-ready datasets for downstream consumption by Power BI and other analytical tools. Implement and maintain data quality controls, validations, reconciliations and exception handling processes. Build and maintain an understanding of data lineage, transformations and metric definitions across the data ecosystem.
