This position is located in Manhattan Beach , CA and supports the Sentinel Program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.  This position is a dual-hat position requiring the candidate to perform functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. It is expected that the Functional Homeroom responsibilities will comprise up to 20% of the candidate's time while 80% of your efforts will be focused on technical program support under the Sentinel – Command Systems (CS) Hardware Design Integration team. As an FHR manager, you will report directly to an SDS Electrical Department Manager. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of between 10 and 15 Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities include recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, performance management, process familiarization and training. For your technical scope, you will be responsible for CS hardware cable design. You will lead a diverse team of electrical engineers and report directly to the IPT cable subsection lead. What You’ll Get to Do: Work with program leadership to assess issues and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality, and program cost/schedule objectives as well as develop and maintain metrics for monitoring the team's progress Provide technical direction, team tasking, and make design decisions in support of development and documentation of hardware interfaces, electrical cable/harness design, analysis and routing Participate in technical reviews and ensure quality and applicability of requirements to work products Grow, develop, and manage a diverse team of electrical designers Interface with internal and external customers Liaison to Command Systems Sub-IPTs and across the program Assist CS management and Chief Engineer in risk identification and tracking.
