As a Sr. Principal Engineer Energetics Manufacturing – Level 4 located in Promontory, UT , you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. As a Test Systems Engineer (Sr. Principal Engineer Energetics Manufacturing) on the Test Systems Engineering Team, works with senior engineers to maintain and/or develop control systems in support of environmental, structural, dynamic, and static test processes for aerospace components including; rocket motors, rocket motor initiation systems, ordnance devices, and illuminating devices. This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Candidate for this position will be part of a team that is responsible for designing, documenting and overseeing the build, installation and checkout process for test support equipment. Candidate will work with Test Engineering and Operations to document ground test equipment electrical and mechanical designs, test setups, and bay configurations. Test engineers must have a willingness to learn how to manage complex test projects and be non-compromising with regards to safety even when working under pressure. Test engineers must be comfortable presenting technical data to leadership and review boards. Test engineers spend time in test facilities (including at offsite customers) developing solutions to a variety of complex testing challenges. Successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating the UIE drawings database in TRO, which includes both mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Candidate must be willing to work overtime on occasion to meet drawing deadline requirements. Other duties as assigned Why you? Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 4 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 8+ years of experience in lieu of degree. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance Excellent written and oral communication skills to create clear and understandable documentation Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NX CAD systems, AutoCAD, P-CAD , and Altium Experience with Siemens EPLM database, Teamcenter , and life cycle management Experience c onvert ing rough sketches, concepts and engineering specifications into accurate technical drawings/bluep rints Experience m aintain ing and upda ting CAD libraries, templates, and version control
