Job Description
Position: Mounter Business Unit: Manufacturing Operations Location: Fort Payne, AL Reports To: Production Supervisor Position Overview The Production Mounter is responsible for assembling, mounting, and installing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural components according to engineering specifications, blueprints, and work instructions. This position performs manufacturing, installation, quality inspection, troubleshooting, inventory control, and continuous improvement activities while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. *May require up to 30 days of Travel for Training Purposes* Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, sketches, templates, and work instructions. Assemble, mount, adjust, and install mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fiberglass, and vehicle components. Set up and utilize jigs, fixtures, hand tools, power tools, hoists, and manufacturing equipment. Perform repetitive assembly operations while meeting production and quality standards. Conduct quality inspections and ensure assemblies meet specifications before advancing the next operation. Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and assembly-related issues. Assist with rework as required. Maintain and control parts inventory as needed. Manufacturer or install components according to established procedures and specifications. Follow 5S practices and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Utilize computer systems and applications to support production processes. Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote company values. Work effectively as part of a team to achieve production goals.
Qualifications
Education High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
0-3 years of manufacturing, assembly, installation, construction, fabrication, mechanical, or related experience preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and written instructions. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, fabrication, or vehicle assembly is preferred. Ability to identify safety hazards and take appropriate corrective actions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or lifting equipment. Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, arms, and shoulders. Ability to work in overhead, bending, stooping, crouching, and confined-space positions. Ability to work under, on, and around equipment, truck chassis, and manufactured products. Ability to safely operate manufacturing tools and equipment.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and production facility environment. Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures. Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
