Responsibilities
Prairie St. John's, a 132-bed psychiatric care facility located in Fargo, North Dakota, has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, supportive housing, MAT, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 4,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's. Prairie St. John’s is seeking a dynamic and talented Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for children and adolescents with emotional, mental, behavioral, and substance use challenges in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws and privileges. Partners with Director of Clinical Services to develop and maintain first class clinical experience for patients. Create, implement and evaluate treatment plans; creates documentation required for each patient visit. Provide individual, family and group counseling. Provides guidance, education, and oversight to residents, interns, and students. Participates in assigned committees, including the planning and review of policies and procedures. Demonstrates tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity in communications. Is clear and accurate in communication. Responds promptly to requests, problems, and questions. Maintains confidentiality as appropriate. Interacts well with co-workers, inter and intra departments. All employees of Prairie St. John’s are expected to adhere to safety policies, safe work practices, and other hospital policies. Employees are expected to complete mandatory training on time and attend mandatory meetings. All staff at Prairie St. John’s may be required to work in different areas/units and varying shifts depending on the business needs to the facility. Performs other duties as assigned or as requested.
Qualifications
The following are the job requirements for the Nurse Practitioner position: RN licensure Completion of a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Nursing Passed the National exam for an Advanced Practice Nurse in Psychiatry or Certified Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry Able to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical record documentation. Computer skills using Microsoft Office products including Outlook.
