Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, YouTube Creator Studio

As an Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead for the Studio Client Infra team, you will be a key architect of the engine that powers the world’s largest creator ecosystem. You have influence well beyond yourself. You aren't just writing code—you are building the "foundational highway" that over 50 YouTube feature teams (including Shopping, Community, and Monetization) rely on to reach their users across Web, iOS, and Android. You will lead the technical design for our modernization shift and drive the deep integration of Generative AI into our native runtimes, defining how the next generation of creators will interact with technology. Lead the design and implementation of projects critical to the YouTube Studio roadmap. Write and test product or system development code for complex, multi-faceted client-side components and frameworks. Lead by example by implementing a significant portion of the team's designs, modeling high standards for code factored for testability, readability, and resilience. Conduct deep technical code reviews, providing feedback that ensures best practices in style, accuracy, and efficiency across the Studio codebase. Model and enforce high technical standards for scalability, maintainability, and testing coverage. Act as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional partners (Product, UX, TPM) to translate requirements into robust technical workplans.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent. 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products. 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field. 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience developing accessible technologies.
