Design, build and operate the backend services powering video playback across Web, Mobile, Connected TV, Fire TV, Operator Platforms and future streaming ecosystems. This role focuses on building and maintaining highly scalable, high-performance video playback experiences across multiple platforms while ensuring consistency, reliability and feature parity throughout our product portfolio. Mentors junior staff, manages technical documentation, and uses performance metrics to improve software reliability. • Build and evolve the backend platform (Metadata services, Playback services, DRM licensing integrations, Content entitlement validation, Stream authorization, CDN delivery orchestration, Playback analytics integration, Advertising configuration, Client API platforms). • Develop & Support video playback: Playback orchestration services, Metadata delivery services, Stream authorization services, Entitlement services, Session management, Device authorization, API development, Platform Integration. • Develop & Support Playback & Session Services: Playback session creation, Playback authorization, Entitlement validation, Device validation, Geo-blocking enforcement, Rights management, Session lifecycle management. • Ensure secure and reliable content access: DRM & Content Protection: Google Widevine, Apple FairPlay, Microsoft PlayReady.

What you’ll bring: Backend software engineering, building scalable APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications, with a strong focus on high-availability production environments and video streaming ecosystems. Skilled in AWS, Terraform, DRM, and content protection, with hands-on expertise in Java, Kotlin, Go, Node.js , and Python for designing, developing, and operating resilient, scalable backend services.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and integrate innovative software solutions that align with business needs Conducting analysis of system requirements and the customization of applications to ensure optimal functionality Assisting with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases Mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and shared knowledge within the team Engaging with Quality Assurance to verify that software meets technical specifications and delivering high-quality, reliable applications Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in software applications and systems Synthesizing market research and industry trends to inform project strategies and enhance product offerings Conducting training sessions for operational staff to ensure effective use of internally developed applications Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
