Overview As a Senior Software Engineer at Mercer, you will play a key role in shaping our future in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence. We will count on you to: Ensure that solution requirements are gathered accurately, understood, and that all stakeholders have transparency on impacts Write high-quality, maintainable code based on Agile user stories, including unit tests that comply with established coding standards and guidelines, while leveraging AI development productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance coding efficiency. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, serving as a role model and fostering their growth within the team. Advocate for best practices in software development, emphasising AI ethics, data privacy, and secure-by-design principles. Collaborate with peers to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, sharing knowledge, technologies, and methodologies. Champion Agile practices that are essential for successful product delivery and team collaboration. Actively engage in the MMC Technology community, contributing to discussions, collaborations, and learning opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with product owners, solutions architects, analysts, and leadership to ensure alignment of solutions with business objectives. Leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to address real-world challenges and enhance our software solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve development issues, focusing on performance and integration challenges. Provide technical support to clients for existing issues and recommend enhancements to current solutions. Cloud-Native Architecture Knowledge : Familiarity with cloud-native software architectures, particularly in deploying solutions on platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure,with an interest in AI applications. Security-Driven Design Practices : Understanding of security-driven design principles and experience addressing SAST/DAST findings, especially in relation to AI data handling and model security. CI/CD and DevOps Proficiency : Proficiency in CI/CD and DevOps practices, including the use of Quality Gates to ensure high code quality.
