Role
Overview As a Security Technician, you will troubleshoot, service, inspect, and repair intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers, explain next steps clearly, and help restore full system functionality with a strong focus on service quality, responsiveness, and reliable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Locate and diagnose trouble with damaged equipment, wiring, or system components. Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test systems to confirm proper operation. Perform repairs and inspections of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems. Assist fellow service technicians with system repairs and complete minor repairs, including battery replacement. Test system operation to the customer monitoring center to establish service connectivity. Complete forms, service notes, and customer paperwork accurately and on time. Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies when needed. Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes that help customers improve system performance and facility efficiency. How You Will Do It Own the service outcome with accountability, safety, and integrity, from first diagnosis through final resolution. Stay close to the customer’s needs by explaining findings clearly, setting expectations, and helping remove barriers to restoration. Use disciplined troubleshooting and testing practices to confirm repairs, validate monitoring-center connectivity, and reduce repeat issues. Improve every day by documenting work carefully, sharing practical recommendations, and applying lessons learned on future calls. Qualifications
1 year of experience in the low-voltage or security industry. Strong general knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms, including Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent Knight, DMP, DSC, and similar systems. Experience servicing and troubleshooting intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems in commercial environments. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to explain service findings and next steps clearly. Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record. Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks. High school diploma or GED.
Nice to Have
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Ability to unload a ladder from a fleet vehicle and climb ladders as needed. Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely at all times. Excellent customer service skills and comfort discussing recommendations and service options.
