Standard Job Description Who we are Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer. This Systems Engineer will support the Mission Electronics System (MES) program within our Undersea Mission Systems (UMS) market segment at our Manassas, Virginia location. This Systems Engineer will be part of a team responsible for requirements development, interface management, and system modeling implementation. This Systems Engineer will ensure SE process is followed and will produce needed documentation for design reviews. As the MES program uses the System Model as the source of truth, this Systems Engineer will need to bring passion and energy for advancing the model. The Work This position involves daily team interaction and collaboration with other engineering disciplines. This Systems Engineer must be able to effectively communicate and interface across the team to address matters that affect execution or performance of the project and provide regular progress status and participate in required program planning. The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including customers, end-users, and internal teams, is essential. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Basic Qualifications To excel in this role, the successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes: Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline with 4+ years of related professional experience or equivalent experience/combined education. Systems Engineering experience in all phases of the development lifecycle Hands-on experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology, use cases, activity diagrams, interface diagrams and requirements (Cameo MagicDraw preferred) Involvement in detailed software and/or hardware design and development programs Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
