KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) contract. You will join the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering team to help define the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force Military Satellite Communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You may lead and support working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolving and identifying risks and requirements gaps, developing briefings, writing and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes. The MSEIT effort provides leading edge SE&I for the Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Key Responsibilities
Support the MSEIT System Safety Government Team by evaluating ESOH risks identified by the government, contractors, or other stakeholders, preparing ESOH documents and providing system safety support for Space Flight Worthiness certification Document, perform, and execute changes to Government System Safety documents Review and participate in government evaluations of contractor documentation to hazard analyses, mitigation strategies, and safety assessments, as well as advise the government team Perform safety risk assessments in accordance with MSEIT Program and Space Force guidance documents and prepare safety risk assessments for acceptance or for further mitigation. Prepare documents including but not limited to: Programmatic Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Evaluation (PESHE),Space Debris Assessment Report/End of Life Plan (SDAR/EOLP) for space vehicles, and Environmental Analysis for ground system Prepare and support the System Safety elements of the space vehicle Space Flight Worthiness certification Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Space Force Work Environment: Location: Onsite Travel Requirements: Minimal Working Hours: Standard Qualifications: Required: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required for this position Bachelor’s degree 4+ years’ experience in systems engineering 1+ years’ experience in Systems Safety engineering, to include System Safety Engineering practices, techniques, and procedures and working with System Safety military
