Job Title Industrial Welder & Pipefitter Job Description Summary The Fitter Welder / Pipe Welder is responsible for performing industrial welding, fabrication, installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of piping systems, tanks, vessels, structural components, and related equipment in a safety-focused industrial environment. This role requires the ability to interpret blueprints and isometric drawings, fabricate and install piping systems, and perform high-quality welding in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements. The position supports maintenance and reliability objectives through the execution of corrective and preventive maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repair work. Responsibilities include layout, fitting, cutting, assembling, and welding metal components; testing and inspecting completed welds; and maintaining accurate work documentation. Pipe Welders are expected to maintain required welding certifications, including B31.1 and 6G stainless steel certifications, while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have 3-5+ years of industrial welding and fabrication experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in demanding industrial environments. The role requires working at heights, in varying environmental conditions, and on flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment. “Safety First” expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures. 2. Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, repairs and preventive maintenance on tanks, vessels, piping systems and structural systems. 3. This position may require moderate supervision and follow-up. 4. Tasks also include layout and fabrication of new and replacement piping systems, as well as installation of valves and related piping equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards. Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery. 5. Must have working knowledge of the following topics; blue print reading, ability to draw and interpret isometric diagrams, be or be able to be certified to B31. 1 Pipe Welding Code as well as 6-G in stainless steel. Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler. 6. Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment. Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or oxy / fuel torch / plasma cutter. 7. Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications. Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments. Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper. 8. Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment. Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc. 9. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. 10.
