About this role
Salesforce Experience Cloud – Tech Lead1 Key Responsibilities Own the technical architecture and solution design for Experience Cloud implementations spanning both Customer and Partner portals, including licensing strategy, data model, security model, and integration architecture. Lead technical discovery and solution design workshops with client stakeholders (IT, Digital, Customer Experience, Channel/Partner teams), translating business goals into a coherent technical roadmap. Make and defend architectural decisions: template selection (Customer Service vs. Partner Central vs. Build Your Own), licensing model (Customer Community, Customer Community Plus, Partner Community, external identity users), sharing strategy, and integration patterns. Guide the team on advanced customization: complex LWC/Aura component architecture, Apex design patterns, API-led integration architecture, and performance/scalability considerations for high-volume external user bases. Own the end-to-end security design for guest users, authenticated external users, and cross-org data visibility, ensuring compliance with data privacy and access requirements. Lead technical risk management: identify architectural risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure technical decisions align with long-term scalability and maintainability. Manage and mentor a team of Junior and Senior Developers, setting coding standards, conducting architecture/code reviews, and driving technical upskilling on Experience Cloud. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients — presenting architecture, timelines, risks, and trade-offs to senior client stakeholders (CIO/Director-level) with clarity and confidence. Own delivery governance: sprint/technical planning, estimation, resourcing, and coordination with functional leads/project managers. Stay current with Salesforce releases and Experience Cloud roadmap, proactively advising clients on new features (e.g., Experience Cloud for Slack, headless commerce via Experience Cloud, LWR sites) relevant to their business. Drive pre-sales support as needed: solution architecture input, effort estimation, and technical proposal/RFP responses.
Required Qualifications
8–12+ years of Salesforce experience overall, with 5+ years of deep, hands-on Experience Cloud architecture and delivery experience across both Customer and Partner portal implementations at an enterprise scale. Proven track record leading the technical workstream on multiple full-cycle Experience Cloud implementations, including complex integrations and large external user populations. Expert-level knowledge of Experience Cloud architecture: licensing models, sharing and security architecture, guest user risk management, multi-site/multi-brand strategies, and headless (LWR) vs. Aura-based site architectures. Strong hands-on background in LWC, Aura, Apex, integration architecture (REST/SOAP, Platform Events, middleware), and Salesforce data architecture/security model. Strong functional/business understanding of both customer self-service processes (case deflection, knowledge, order management) and partner ecosystem processes (deal registration, partner onboarding/tiering, MDF, co-selling, partner performance/analytics). Demonstrated experience translating ambiguous business requirements into a technical architecture and roadmap, and communicating that roadmap persuasively to senior business and IT stakeholders. Experience leading and mentoring technical teams, setting standards, and owning technical quality across an engagement. Excellent client communication and executive presence; comfortable leading steering committee discussions and defending architectural decisions. Certification (mandatory): Salesforce Certified Experience Cloud Consultant and Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect (or actively pursuing Architect-track certifications with Platform Developer II and Sharing and Visibility Architect/Identity
