Senior level individual contributor position focused on the home fragrance category with 1 junior level direct report. This position is responsible for new product execution, scale-up of new formulas and transfer of technology to ensure product launches meet expectations in the areas of quality, cost and timing. Additional areas of responsibility include continuous improvement of processes and formulas to deliver cost savings, improved quality and lead times reductions. This position interfaces internally with Product Development, Research & Development, Packaging, Quality, Operations, and Sourcing.
Responsibilities
Program Execution (50%) • Support development and scale-up of home fragrance products • Coordinate and lead pilot batches (bulk compounding) and line trials (labeling and filling trials) to ensure smooth transition from development to production • Assess and validate batching, filling, labeling and pack-out equipment • Attend and or lead commercialization and project planning meetings • Support manufacturing and alternate sourcing strategies • Validate alternate raw materials and components • Lead meetings involving multiple functions with both BBW and external partners to update technical information • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with colleagues from various functions inside and outside the organization to ensure development timelines can be met Issue Management (15%) • Partner and drive issue resolution with internal and external teams to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, decrease defects • Identify and lead all aspects of risk analysis to evaluate production success Vendor Performance/Process Improvements (20%) • Initiate, research and implement value engineering principles to reduce costs, lead time and quality concerns • Participate in supplier improvement plans and recommend areas for improvement for vendor scorecards • New vendor onboarding (assess, audit, and develop) Talent Management and Development (15%) • Lead and develop 1 direct report, providing development, coaching & feedback • Lead the full life cycle of talent initiatives including the recruiting, onboarding and retention of team members Qualifications Qualifications • 5+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment • Previous experience in home fragrance, personal care, consumer goods, or related categories is preferred. • Must demonstrate problem solving capability and work through large amounts of data to generate conclusions and develop action plans • Strong communication abilities, including the capacity to convey information clearly and concisely through oral and written methods • Experience in project management, manufacturing processes, statistical techniques and GMP • Ability to travel 30% domestically and internationally Education • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Physical or Natural Sciences, or a related field Core Competencies Drives Results Action Oriented Collaborates Decision Making Nimble Learning Benefits Feeling good starts with you.
