We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. What You’ll Do: • Plan appropriate staffing levels to meet business and client needs. • Serve as subject matter expert for the software used within the department. • Manage team workload as needed and assist with key performance indicator Matrices to surface inefficiencies and assist in providing solutions. • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the department to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner. • Ensure all aspects of site deliverables meet the client’s needs (kits, manuals, instruction sheets, etc). • Review department processes, training and SOPs to improve service and efficiency within the department. Assess and implement new training for new hires and/or process changes. • Contribute to the development of user requirements for improving and enhancing services. • Actively assist during sponsor audits. • Manage staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, behavioral and technical coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approve courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Review and approve time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime. Promote all aspects of PPD Equal Employment Opportunity policy and Affirmative Action Plan. Assure department adherence to good ethical and regulatory standards. Education and Experience: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years). • 1+ year of leadership responsibility In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Directly supervises individual contributors, administrative support and / or entry-level professionals. Physical Requirements / Work Environment: • Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. • Occasional mobility required. • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck. • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift
