Defense Mission Protocol Professional The Opportunity: As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don’t. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We’re looking for an expert like you to create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe. As a Protocol Spe cia list, you’ll bring your comprehensive knowledge of protocol, courtesies, and etiquette to work on projects for a General and Flag officer level military command. You’ll research and analyze orders, directives, and policy guiding military protocols to provide advice and planning support, and coordinate recommendations ceremonies, so cia l functions, and receptions held in honor of visiting dignitaries to ensure appropriateness of all elements of planned functions and preclude embarrassment to the command. You’ll be a t rus ted advisor to our clients, and we’ll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies , and processes to achieve the protocol outcome within regulatory guidelines. You’ll guide the work we do for our Department of Defense ( DoD ) client and the solutions we deliver for our military client as it relates to effective protocol analysis, planning, and coordination. You served your country in uniform, now continue your mission with us. You Have: 5+ years of experience working as a Protocol Officer at the General and Flag Officer level Knowledge of the Marine Corps organizational structure and functions of a general officer at the Major Subordinate Command level or higher Knowledge of protocol courtesies and etiquette elements for distinguished visitors such as military, civilians, U.S., and foreign visitors, including government offi cia ls, high ranking military officers, community leaders and elected offi cia ls, and corporate leaders and directives and para met ers under which subordinate, adjacent, and higher organizations must operate Knowledge of local community organizations and activities or spe cia l events to plan, coordinate, budget , execute, and evaluate involvement in local activities Knowledge of sof tware applications such as databases, word processing, and spreadsheets, and integrating different sof tware applications into a single product to perform non-routine functions and advise others on met hods and procedures Knowledge of Offi cia l Representation Funds ( ORF ) and Non-Appropriated Funds ( NAF ) Ability to work at a fast pace while supporting multiple military events at once and work complex assignments and unique and dynamic situations that require application of critical thinking and problem-solving to develop good courses of action to solve problems Ability to write and verbally communicate at the level expected for a general officer command, including review, correct, originate, or prepare draft or final material in proper naval correspondence format, prepare comprehensive After-Action Reports ( AARs ) and critiques following major visits, ceremonies, and so cia l functions, analyze outcomes to identify systemic improvements for future events, and work with higher Headquarters and Marine Corps Community Services ( MCCS ) when needed to obtain ORF or manage NAF for offi cia l events Secret clearance Bachelor's degree Nice If You Have: Experience training all members of a team to perform the duties of every other member of the team Knowledge of different administrative processes and procedures utilized by the major departments of a Flag-level command Knowledge of military and civilian rank and grade structures and related protocol or precedence information Knowledge of Marine Corps and Joint Travel Regulations ( JTR ) and Defense Travel System ( DTS ) Clearance:    Applicants selected will be subject to a security
