Position
Purpose The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Frozen Department to ensure outstanding customer service, product quality, inventory accuracy, and execution of merchandising standards. This position leads department associates, maintains proper product rotation and in-stock conditions, and supports achievement of sales, profitability, and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Department Operations Supervise daily Frozen Department activities and workflow. Ensure frozen products are properly stocked, rotated, faced, and merchandised. Maintain department presentation standards that support sales and customer satisfaction. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering to maintain in-stock conditions. Ensure pricing, signage, and promotional displays are accurate and current. Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and equipment functionality. Customer Service Provide exceptional customer service and promote a positive shopping experience. Assist customers with product selection and department inquiries. Address customer concerns promptly and professionally. Promote department products, seasonal items, and company programs. Foster customer loyalty through service excellence and product knowledge. Leadership and Team Development Train, coach, and support department associates. Provide daily direction to ensure productivity and operational efficiency. Assist with scheduling and workload distribution. Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Reinforce company policies, procedures, and performance expectations. Food Safety and Compliance Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements. Monitor product storage conditions and frozen food handling procedures. Ensure products are rotated according to freshness and code-date standards. Conduct routine quality inspections and remove damaged or out-of-code merchandise. Support successful completion of company audits and inspections. Financial Performance Assist in achieving department sales, labor, gross profit, and shrink goals. Monitor inventory levels to reduce out-of-stocks and excess inventory. Support shrink reduction initiatives through proper inventory management. Maintain accurate inventory practices and department records. Identify opportunities to improve sales and operational performance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous grocery, frozen, or retail experience required. Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and food safety practices. Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills. Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance when necessary. Ability to work for extended periods in freezer and refrigerated environments. Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, carts, ladders, and other department equipment.
