Job Description
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Location expectations: This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week. U.S. Bank is seeking a Cloud Security Analyst - Posture Management to join its growing Security Posture Management team. This role is responsible for continuously assessing cloud environments, identifying security risks, and helping improve the overall security posture of AWS, Azure, and cloud-native infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a technically curious security professional who enjoys investigating security findings, understanding root causes, and partnering with stakeholders to reduce risk through effective remediation and preventative controls. This person will analyze findings generated by cloud security platforms, assess technical and business risk, validate security concerns, and develop actionable remediation recommendations. They will work closely with cloud, infrastructure, identity, and cybersecurity teams to strengthen security controls, improve operational processes, and support emerging automation and AI-driven security initiatives. This role is focused on proactive security analysis and posture management rather than traditional alert monitoring or incident-response activities.
Main Responsibilities
Review and triage findings generated by Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and cloud security platforms. Analyze AWS, Azure, and cloud-native infrastructure configurations to identify security risks and control gaps. Evaluate findings to determine validity, severity, exposure, and business impact. Perform root-cause analysis to understand why security issues occurred and identify opportunities for long-term risk reduction. Develop and communicate actionable remediation recommendations to technology partners. Recommend preventative security controls and guardrails to reduce recurring issues. Partner with cloud engineering, infrastructure, identity, and application teams to support remediation efforts. Document analysis, risk assessments, findings, and recommendations using established workflows and processes. Identify trends and recurring issues to support broader enterprise security initiatives. Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency and consistency across the Security Posture Management program. Support automation and AI-assisted capabilities that help scale security analysis and remediation activities. Help shape and mature a growing security program by contributing ideas, workflows, and operational improvements. Must Have Skills: 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, cloud security, or a related field. Experience analyzing security findings and assessing technical and business risk. Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments. Understanding of cloud security principles and cloud-native technologies. Ability to investigate security issues, identify root causes, and recommend remediation actions. Experience communicating security findings and recommendations to technical stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to prioritize security findings based on actual risk and business impact rather than tool-generated severity alone. Experience documenting security analysis and risk decisions in a structured and repeatable manner.
