Job Description
Job Summary: The Transportation Pricing Assistant Manager/Supervisor is responsible for leading transportation pricing activities across the assigned country or sub-region, ensuring competitive, accurate, and timely pricing solutions that support business growth and customer satisfaction. The role oversees RFQs, spot quotations, pricing strategy development, and pricing process optimization while maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, service providers, sales teams, and operational stakeholders. This position also drives pricing excellence through data analysis, market intelligence, performance monitoring, and leadership of regional pricing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support country and sub-regional pricing teams to achieve pricing, revenue, and service objectives. Develop and implement pricing strategies while driving process improvements and pricing centralization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. Manage and oversee RFQs, tenders, bids, and spot quotations, ensuring competitive, accurate, and timely responses. Analyze market trends, carrier rates, customer procurement practices, and pricing performance to optimize pricing effectiveness and win rates. Maintain and update Pricing Strategy Templates (PST), tariffs, quotation databases, and pricing records to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, service providers, customers, sales teams, account managers, and operational stakeholders. Collaborate with sales, customer service, and management teams to understand customer requirements and develop competitive transportation solutions. Monitor and communicate market developments, including rate fluctuations, GRI, PSS, and other pricing changes, to relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining complete quotation records, bid results, customer feedback, and performance reporting. Take up any additional tasks required by the company.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in transportation pricing, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management. Proven experience managing RFQs, tenders, bids, spot quotations, and transportation pricing activities. Strong knowledge of transportation pricing, tariffs, carrier procurement practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
