OVERVIEW
Working as Full-time Inventory Technical Analyst, you will lead inventory accounting and reporting projects, improve processes and controls and develop sustainable reporting and automation solutions. You will partner with inventory accounting and costing teams, operations and technology teams to strengthen financial reporting and decision making. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Leading inventory projects from scoping and requirements through testing, implementation, documentation, training and sustained adoption
o Analyzing current processes and root causes to recommend practical improvements that increase accuracy, timeliness, efficiency and scalability
o Researching accounting guidance and translating requirements into consistently applied inventory policies, processes and internal controls
o Producing accurate monthly inventory reporting and developing standardized automated dashboards and analytical tools that improve visibility into balances, transactions, costs and financial risks

o Communicating project status, risks, decisions and results to team members and business stakeholders
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o 18 years of age or older
o Possess a minimum of 3 years of Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems or Fastenal work experience
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and drive cross-functional work to completion
o Translate business needs into clear process, reporting and system requirements
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Willingness to travel
o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
o Possess a degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Supply Chain or related field
o Possess inventory accounting, cost accounting or financial reporting experience
o Knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
o Experience with project management, continuous improvement or change management methods
o Experience with Power BI, Smartsheet or other tools to visualize data effectively
