Fab Support Equipment Maintenance Technician

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, brand-new technology and manufacturing environment. Equipment Maintenance Technicians support fabrication processing at the forefront of innovation for the world’s leading memory and storage solution provider, Micron Technology. Ability to collaborate with team members and communicate and address preventative maintenance needs for manufacturing equipment performance, while proactively identifying and resolving safety concerns.  Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements, while detailing hardware and process deviations to help prevent recurring problems in tool functionality. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is accurately stored and organized. Participate in teams passionate about improving equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.  Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools.  Stand for long periods, walk several miles per shift, lift 25–40 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, or kneeling while navigating safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces to perform job duties effectively.   Maintain situational awareness to identify hazards promptly, and consistently wear required PPE (e.g., respirators, cleanroom garments) to protect product quality and maintain a safe, contamination-free environment. Working and leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with an emphasis on fulfilling scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

High school diploma or equivalent Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off) and be willing to move to different shifts and work overtime to support business operations.  2 years of experience performing preventative maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment and automation.   2 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.  2 years’ experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.

Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.  4+ years’ experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.  4+ years’ experience in leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.  Over 4 years of experience in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime, and maintaining industrial and automated systems.
