What this opportunity involves: As an Assistant Facilities Manager – Residential, you'll support the delivery and operational excellence of JLL's Canberra-based Staff Residential Property portfolio. You'll take hands-on responsibility for managing the full lifecycle of residential properties—from acquisition and onboarding through to occupancy and exit—ensuring every property meets strict compliance, safety, and service standards before staff move in. You'll coordinate Move In / Move Out activities, oversee contractor performance, and maintain accurate records and documentation across the portfolio. Acting as a key point of contact for FCDO staff and stakeholders, you'll ensure seamless service delivery while embedding consistent, controlled processes that support both client confidence and operational integrity. An overview of the role: Manage the operational delivery of the Canberra Staff Residential Property portfolio across the full property lifecycle Coordinate and control all Move In / Move Out activities, ensuring properties are fully compliant and approved before occupancy Oversee property exits, inspections, rectification works, and preparation for reoccupation Ensure compliance with fire, gas, electrical, and general safety requirements across all residential assets Review contractor safety documentation and monitor works to ensure delivery meets agreed standards Maintain accurate SRP records, trackers, and Property Application Packs (PAPs) in line with client requirements Manage relationships with service providers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of maintenance and compliance works Provide responsive customer service to FCDO staff, addressing queries, issues, and escalations related to residential accommodation Support budgeting, financial monitoring, and procurement activities related to SRP operations Sounds like you? This is what we are looking for: Relevant tertiary qualification in facilities management, property, construction, or a related discipline Minimum 2–3 years' experience in facilities management, property management, or residential portfolio management Demonstrated experience managing contractors, compliance activities, and operational workflows Strong understanding of building compliance, safety requirements, and property readiness standards Proven stakeholder management and client service skills in a professional environment Strong organisational and project management capabilities with attention to detail Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance Experience managing
