As a New Graduate Automation Engineer, you will join a team responsible for developing innovative automation solutions that improve software deployment efficiency, reduce operational risk, and enhance customer experience across major wireless networks in North America. This role provides an opportunity to learn and apply modern software engineering, automation, analytics, and AI technologies while contributing to mission-critical customer deployments.
What you will do
Software Development & Automation Work alongside experienced software developers, automation engineers, AI practitioners, telecom subject matter experts, support engineers, and software delivery teams to create tools and solutions that directly impact network modernization activities Design, develop, test, and maintain automation solutions using Python and related technologies Create tools that automate operational, engineering, and software delivery activities. Contribute to automation frameworks supporting large-scale software upgrades and network deployments. Develop scripts, APIs, integrations, and workflows that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort. AI-Assisted Operations Assist in developing AI-enabled workflows and intelligent automation solutions. Explore practical uses of Large Language Models, prompt engineering, agentic automation, and AI-assisted development tools. Help translate operational pain points into repeatable tools, knowledge retrieval solutions, and decision-support capabilities. Data Analytics & Reporting Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Support development of dashboards, reporting solutions, and performance metrics. Use data to improve troubleshooting quality, software delivery readiness, and customer-impact awareness. Operations & Network Support Support software upgrade and deployment activities across customer networks. Assist engineering teams in troubleshooting operational issues and identifying root causes. Collaborate with technical leads to improve automated recovery, mitigation, and preventative capabilities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing customer-impacting events. Agile Delivery & Collaboration Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives. Create technical documentation, design specifications, user guides, and handover materials. Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions. Collaborate across engineering, software delivery, support, project management, and customer-facing teams. Join our Team The skills you bring: Recent graduation or expected graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline. 0-2 years of professional experience, including internships, co-ops, academic projects, capstone projects, or personal projects. Foundational understanding of software development principles and object-oriented programming concepts. Experience with Python programming through coursework, internships, research, or independent projects. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative technical environment. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Experience
