Dominion Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our team for a Senior Occupational Health Specialist at the downtown Richmond, VA office. This role recommends, develops, implements and coordinates corporate wide occupational health policies, programs and processes and monitors their effectiveness to further business objectives and legal requirements. Keeps abreast of current practices and informed of new developments, to identify improvements or changes needed and to alert management to need for action. Identifies potential health and workers compensation risks and implements corrective measures. Ensures compliance with all OSHA and company regulations. Maintains Designated Employer Representative responsibilities. The DER duties require on-call duties in a shared rotation. Maintains DOT drug and alcohol plans for the corporation. Maintains and updates the drug and alcohol website. Conducts drug and alcohol training. Performs occupational health training and presentations. Administers public occupational health programs for external customers. Recommends and develops cost control measures and long-range strategies that will maintain competitiveness and facilitate achievement of corporate objectives. This role is responsible for conducting medical reviews which includes direct converstaions with medical providers, the Corporate Medical Doctor, and other nurses on staff. The role works closely with the Corporate Safety teams, Human Resources, and business leaders. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
8+ years of nursing experience with at least 4 years of related experience such as occupational health, wellness programs, and preventative care.
Full, unrestricted license to practice nursing (RN - Registered Nurse) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Working knowledge of OSHA laws. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good public speaking/presentation skills. Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Excellent planning and organizing skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to coordinate projects, including monitoring and follow up. Education Requirements
Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate in Nursing Required Preferred Discipline: Bachelor preferred Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Full, unrestricted license to practice nursing (RN - Registered Nurse) in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Multi-state Compact License preferred. Applicants must not have any pending actions with any state Boards of Nursing or other regulatory authoriites. Working Conditions
