Description

This position will work with breeder servicemen and will supervise and monitor hatchery production, egg pickup, inventory, and egg breakout at the lowest possible cost. The position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:     ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:     1.     Maintain accurate records and be able to direct the workforce.     2.     Hire and train personnel.     3.     Monitor safety rules and regulations.     4.     Set schedule.     5.     Observe all Bio-Security programs.     6.     Oversee and monitor a safe working environment.     7.     Oversee the production of healthy baby chicks for broiler grown out.     8.     Other duties as assigned.       BASIC SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:     - Two years’ experience in a processing or manufacturing environment.     - Must have knowledge of hatchery of baby chicks.     - Previous supervisory experience a must.     - Self-motivated and detail oriented.     - Good interpersonal skills.     - Ability to recognize and advise when unsafe conditions are observed.     - Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).         EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:   -Education: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred     Why Work for Pilgrim’s?   Benefits : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;  Paid Time Off : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;  401(k):  company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;       Hourly wages  range of $20.00 - $22.00 an hour plus a $1.00 Shift differential     Better Futures       EOE, including disability/vets.
