NFP's Private Equity Group is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) Project Manager to support and enhance our growing due diligence practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions, serve as a trusted advisor to private equity investors, and influence how risk and insurance considerations are evaluated throughout the deal process. The AVP will be responsible for managing complex diligence engagements, delivering high-quality client advisory services, and contributing to the continued evolution of NFP's due diligence capabilities. This position is ideal for an experienced insurance professional who enjoys solving complex transactional challenges, leading internal client teams, working directly with clients, and providing expert risk guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead complex risk and insurance due diligence engagements for private equity transactions across a broad range of industries. Serve as a key client contact throughout the transaction lifecycle, providing consultative guidance and strategic recommendations. Contribute to enhancements to due diligence methodologies, reporting standards, and workflow efficiency to improve client outcomes and consistency of deliverables. Evaluate insurance programs, claims history, collateral arrangements, captive structures, and insurance-related financial exposures. Identify transaction-related risks and collaborate with internal and external advisors to develop effective solutions. Partner with brokers, coverage specialists, producers, client service teams, and M&A professionals to assess findings and craft risk management strategies. Deliver accurate, comprehensive, and actionable due diligence reports and executive-level presentations. Occasional travel as required Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business, Insurance, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with significant experience supporting private equity, M&A, transactional risk, or due diligence engagements. Expertise in Property & Casualty insurance and specialty lines, including Cyber, Professional Liability, Financial Lines, Environmental, and Captive programs. Understanding of financial statements, accounting concepts, insurance-related financial analysis, and transaction structures. Strong ability to manage multiple complex engagements and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines. Client-facing presence and ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders. Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills. Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial analysis, and report preparation.

The base salary range for this position is $160,000 – $185,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location.
