 The General Mills Buffalo Plant manufactures both Flour and Cereal products for General Mills’ North America Retail and North America Food Service segments. Our flour products are targeted to a wide variety of customers within our North America Food Service division. Our cereal products include a variety of sizes and configurations of Cheerios, Lucky Charms, and Chex. Operating since 1903, the Buffalo plant has a long history in downtown Buffalo, making the city smell like Cheerios since 1941. Today, the plant is on a journey driving towards Destination Zero by focusing on Zero Loss principles as well as building a Buffalo Forever culture. The Manufacturing Team Leader Associate (TLA) role is designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to learn about manufacturing and operations at a General Mills facility, learn more about the Team Leader role, and bring new ideas and continuous improvement strategies to the plant. This is a temporary role and will last 3 months in length, generally over the summer with no benefits. Compensation $24/hour (No Benefits) Key Accountabilities The TLA will have exposure to typical Team Leader assignments in Manufacturing, Maintenance or Material Handling Departments, such as: Conducting system audits and improvement engineering (establishing operating parameters, troubleshooting, overseeing installations / start-ups of major new systems) Developing safety and sanitation programs Identifying and implementing cost-savings opportunities Leading capability studies (productivity, ingredient loss, system reliability, overall capability) Ensuring quality compliance (lab analysis) Shadowing Team Leaders and Operators to learn and perform daily activities/procedures Understanding the roles of support and administrative departments Minimum Qualifications Leadership experience in school, work, or extracurricular activities Open to work alternative shifts (2nd shift or 3rd shift) to support the 24-7 operations of the plant Preferred Qualifications Working toward a BS/BA in Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Management Students with a sophomore or junior year class status GPA 3.0 or above Additional Considerations At the completion of this program, a formal evaluation of performance and contributions will be reviewed with the employee for growth and experience. 
 SALARY RANGE The salary range for this position is: $48,700 - $67,100 Annual
