Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Software Engineer - DevSecOps to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on site in San Diego, CA or El Segundo, CA . The selected candidate will be working with the latest technology to modernize software production across multiple programs. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position. Travel up to 25% may be required. Roles and Responsibilities will include: • Standup of large scale software factory used by software teams • Integrate and automate systems to facilitate continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, and continuous deployment pipeline • Strong communication skills is a must to work with Software IPT, chief engineers, and development team • The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related engineering experience. • Experience with concepts such as micro services *including scalability best practices), containers, and container orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills • Experience with a variety of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Ant, Bamboo, Chef, GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, etc. • Experience using Agile methodologies in programs with multiple teams • Experience with software development (Java/Javascript, C++, C# or any modern object-oriented language) and its life cycle • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). • Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. Initial PAR is not required to onboard. • Ability to obtain and maintain subsequent SAP PARs following commencement of employment to be able to completely support statement of work. Preferred Qualifications: • Active Top Secret Clearance issued by the U.S. Government • Experience with Virtualization technology • Strong background in Linux/Unix/Windows Administration • Experience using the Agile methodology • Experience with the full Atlassian tool suite (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, Crucible, FishEye, Crowd) • Experience developing builds in Maven, including MAVEN profiles. Ability to automate software builds and releases via Maven & Nexus • Experience with developing formal builds within the DoD
