This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least five days per week.   Relocation and housing assistance are not available for this position.   Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time   We will consider qualified applicants of all ages who are starting (or restarting) their careers         Our R&D engineers are responsible for designing and developing medical devices for the Electronic Medical Equipment (EME) group. These technologies monitor, support the diagnosis of, and treat irregular heart rhythms, heart failure, and sudden cardiac arrest. EME provides devices and therapies that support a patient’s entire continuum of care, from diagnostics to treatment. In this role, you will contribute to the development and testing of innovative systems used  in EME. The position will focus on prototyping, developing, and optimizing new design solutions for a complex medical therapy, ultimately driving to commercial readiness. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with sound technical fundamentals who can drive execution in a very diverse and fast-paced environment.           Your responsibilities will include:

Design contributor for components, sub, or finished medical device assemblies.

Support prototyping and concept selection activities.

Develop thorough test plans, drive experiment execution, analyze data, and present findings to the team for review and feedback.

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of design, manufacturing, and quality requirements.

Design, procure, and fabricate tooling and fixtures.

Execute project tasks relating to area of ownership.

Author technical reports that communicate findings and share knowledge.

Improve or develop bench performance test methods as needed.

Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions.

Support team troubleshooting activities as they arise.

Significant amount of hands-on, in-lab product development and testing.

May train and/or provide work directions to technicians.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering   Must have prior internship with Boston Scientific   Must graduate by May 2027  Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

Highly motivated individual that can drive deliverables through creative problem solving and collaboration among team members.

Demonstrated ability to ideate, prototype, and implement creative engineering solutions.

Experience with experimental execution, data analysis and knowledge sharing.

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
