Xylem is seeking an Industrial Controls Field Service Technician to support customers across the U.S. and Canada through the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of advanced municipal water treatment systems. This is a hands-on field service opportunity for a technician with experience in industrial controls, PLCs, electrical and mechanical systems, instrumentation, pumps, or commissioning. Experience in municipal water and wastewater is highly valued, but candidates with strong transferable experience in industrial, manufacturing, automation, controls, or electrical environments are encouraged to apply. This role works with a variety of advanced mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems and requires a strong technical background, customer-focused communication, and the ability to work independently in the field. You’ll collaborate closely with customers, project teams, and internal support groups to help deliver safe and successful project outcomes. A typical work week includes travel on Monday and Friday, with field service work performed Tuesday through Thursday at customer locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. What We’re Looking For Experience servicing and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and industrial control systems in industrial, manufacturing, or municipal environments Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, control panels, and industrial automation Experience with low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment, VFDs, conduit, grounding, and three-phase electrical systems Experience with electrical troubleshooting, control panel wiring, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, network troubleshooting, and control systems Ability to read and interpret Process & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system layouts Experience with instrumentation such as
