Intern- Anatomic Pathology Labcorp is seeking an Intern- Anatomic Pathology to join our team at in Shanghai, China Internship Details: Duration : 20 weeks, full-time/Onsite Dates of Internship : Dec – May 2027 Compensation : Paid internship Eligibility : Final-year students who are expected to graduate in July 2027 are preferred. However, students at all academic levels who are pursuing relevant fields of study are encouraged to apply.
About Team
The Anatomic Pathology Laboratory specializes in the evaluation of animal tissues and organ systems to support toxicology, safety assessment, and biomedical research studies. Services include animal necropsy, gross pathology examinations, tissue collection and trimming, histology preparation, microscopic pathology evaluation, and diagnostic investigations. These activities are essential for assessing treatment-related effects, understanding disease progression, and ensuring the safety of new therapeutic candidates. You will learn about laboratory animal pathology processes and their applications in preclinical research. Exposure to necropsy procedures, histopathological techniques, and pathology data analysis will provide valuable insights into how pathology findings support scientific decision-making and contribute to the development of innovative diagnostics and treatments for human and animal health.
Job Summary
Performs basic necropsy or histology tasks on a variety of laboratory animals in compliance with the appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines Monitors animal health and welfare in compliance with the Animal Health and Welfare Act and help maintain facilities for AAALAC compliance Duties and Responsibilities: Performs basic duties of necropsy and/or basic duties of histology May help to prepare stock solutions and set-up study supplies Trim and bag wet tissues Embed tissues into paraffin Recognizes deviations from expected results and takes appropriate action. Learns to adapt techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates teamwork skills and contributes towards a cohesive team environment Demonstrates data documentation and QC (Quality Control) skills Demonstrates problem solving skills Maintains a clean and safe work environment Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, or Associate Bachelor’s Degree in Histology, Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology or above.
