We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane team. What you'll do
Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Worley, client, statutory and regulatory requirements. Lead and support engineering design, technical verification and delivery of discipline-specific project deliverables. Develop fit-for-purpose solutions from concept through to as-built, with a focus on safe and sustainable design, operability, maintainability and decommissioning. Identify technical issues and risks, then develop practical and innovative solutions. Prepare, review and oversee engineering calculations, drawings, documentation, estimates, schedules and deliverables. Participate in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required. Support scope definition, change management, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables lists, resourcing and discipline inputs into schedules. Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, project stakeholders, workshare teams and internal Worley personnel. Communicate regularly with Lead Engineers, Designers, Project Managers and broader project teams to support high-quality outcomes. Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Worley engineering systems, processes, practices and procedures. Proactively leverage digital and AI-enabled tools in day-to-day work. In a project lead capacity, you will also: Manage discipline engineering activities to support project schedules, budgets and delivery milestones. Act as the primary client interface for discipline-specific engineering matters. Provide technical direction, control and supervision for engineering and design activities. Maintain technical integrity through checking, design review and quality processes. Manage discipline task lists, deliverables, resources, progress reporting, technical queries and change control. Coordinate design with other disciplines, workshare teams and third-party contractors as required.
About You
Tertiary qualifications with a 4-year Bachelor degree in Electrical Power, Electrical Engineering or similar. Minimum 10 years’ technical experience in the oil and gas sector or similar industry, including discipline-level project leadership experience. Experience working across multiple projects and all phases of engineering delivery. Excellent understanding of Australian electrical standards. Hazardous area design experience and/or active certification will be highly regarded. Strong technical capability across equipment sizing, cable routing, layouts, lighting, earthing, arc flash requirements, HV switchgear, MCC design, control system interfacing, instrumentation, protection systems and relay settings. Experience preparing and reviewing electrical calculations, SLDs, schematics, terminations, schedules, layouts, datasheets, specifications, procurement requisitions and construction scope of works packages. Practical site experience, including scoping solutions, equipment inspections, construction, commissioning, FATs and SATs. Ability to contribute to electrical estimates, execution schedules, shutdown planning and design considerations.
