Internship Details: This internship/co-op opportunity is based in Toronto, Ontario and follows a hybrid work model . Candidates should be able to work from our downtown Toronto office 1–2 days per week , depending on team and business needs. We are considering students available for internship/co-op terms ranging from 8 to 16 months beginning in May/June 2027 Role Overview: Build production-quality web experiences and backend services for Genesys Cloud Workforce Management (WFM), contributing to technology that supports billions of customer interactions globally. As a Web Software Developer Intern, you will help create the next generation of web user interfaces and cloud-based services while gaining hands-on experience with modern frontend technologies, Java, Clojure, and AWS. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including feature implementation, bug fixing, unit testing, automation, and peer review, with mentorship from experienced developers. The role provides practical exposure to engineering challenges involving usability, scalability, reliability, and cloud architecture while giving you opportunities to expand your full-stack development skills. At Genesys, you will collaborate with engineers who combine cloud and AI technologies to improve experiences for employees and the customers they serve.

Develop production-quality web applications and backend services that enhance Genesys Cloud Workforce Management experiences Build responsive web user interfaces using modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies with a focus on usability, quality, and maintainability Implement cloud-based functionality using AWS services to support scalable and reliable applications Deliver product enhancements and bug fixes while contributing unit tests and automation that strengthen software quality Collaborate with developers through peer reviews, agile development practices, and technical problem solving Contribute across the software development lifecycle while building practical experience in frontend, backend, testing, and cloud development Apply modern engineering tools and practices to improve code quality, development efficiency, and production readiness Required Qualifications: Currently enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline Knowledge of developing responsive, single-page web applications using modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable web development technologies Knowledge of AWS technologies or fundamental cloud computing concepts Understanding of software development fundamentals, including testing, debugging, or version control Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others Interest in contributing within an agile software development environment and learning from experienced engineers Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to frontend technologies and tools such as HTML5, CSS3, LESS, TypeScript, Knockout, Vue.js, Mocha, Chai, or Webpack Familiarity with backend development using Java, Clojure, or similar programming languages Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or SQS Familiarity with software development and delivery tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins #LI-DNI #LI-DNP Compensation: This role has a market-competitive salary with an
