Job Overview
The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell. This intern will focus on advancing Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives by supporting the implementation of the Hubbell Manufacturing System (HMS) and contributing to Building 1 Steel Department's HMS Bronze Certification efforts. Responsibilities include analyzing operational data, conducting process assessments, facilitating kaizen events, supporting 5S and visual management programs, maintaining standard work documentation, and tracking certification-related action items. The intern will also assist with continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and waste reduction, while supporting the P&P and Utility Riser departments in sustaining and advancing HMS practices toward Silver Certification. Through these efforts, the intern will help drive measurable operational improvements and gain hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing and manufacturing system deployment. A Day In The Life

Full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university throughout the internship program period (May-August 2027), pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree related to the internship (required) Minimum 3.0 GPA (required)
Strong interest in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence, and manufacturing operations.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support business decisions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across production and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, quality systems, or manufacturing processes is preferred but not required.
Prior project-based coursework, involvement in student organizations, manufacturing experience, or previous internships is a plus.
Intern compensation is determined based on academic standing and expected graduation date. Hourly rates for this position range from $22.50 to $29.00 per hour ($46,800–$60,320 annualized equivalent).
