POSITION SUMMARY The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance operations within the continent's administrative offices, ensuring adherence to company processes and policies, as well as compliance with US GAAP. Additionally, the position is responsible for conducting detailed reporting and analysis to meet business requirements and supporting local financial reporting for the EMEA administrative entities, alongside assisting with general entity-related administrative needs.
This role contributes to the development and implementation of strategies that ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services, aiming to meet or exceed the expectations of division leaders, department heads, office associates, and MI Corporate.
The General Ledger Accountant plays a crucial role in advancing key finance initiatives that align with the Continent's and MI's strategic goals, enhancing internal controls to minimize risks and protect company assets. SCOPE
The General Ledger Accountant may perform some or all these functions:
Perform day-to-day accounting tasks for assigned administrative entities within the continent, including but not limited to: balance sheet reconciliation, journal posting and review, reclasses and corrections, accruals and prepayments, support with period close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset maintenance, VAT reconciliation, financial analysis. Financial Reporting: assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, adhering to USGAAP and local accounting standards. Compliance: Support compliance with company policy, US GAAP and local accounting standards under the guidance of the Accounting Manager. Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend efficiencies where appropriate, considering the diversity of EMEA requirements. Audit Support: Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation during audit cycles as needed for assigned EMEA entities, as well as support with the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) process where applicable. Ad-Hoc Projects: participate in special projects and perform additional tasks as assigned by Direct Line Manager and Senior Finance Leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
College or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. Qualified Accountant preferred. Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience with USGAAP. Experience
