Technical Lead

Technical Lead   Johnson Controls   (JCI)   is searching for a   highly skilled   and experienced   Technical Lead   to   lead a team of developers and testers on the   construction of JCI’s internal and customer   facing web and mobile applications .   The   ideal candidate   will have   8+ years of technical leadership   capable of driving development and testing efforts in an agile environment.

The   Technical Lead   will   provide technical leadership as we   design and   build   robust , elastic, and maint ainable   mobile and web-based   applications.   You   must   be a self - starter   hav ing   a thorough understanding of   Spring Boot,   REST and SOAP services ,   ReactJS,   Oracle or comparable   RDBMS   systems ,   SQL,   Microsoft Azure   software development and deployment tools,   design patterns, and deployment strategies .       You   will   report to the Customer Experience   Engineering Manager   and work closely with   Product Owner s ,   Scrum Master,   Solutions Delivery Lead s ,   Solutions   Architect s , and partner companies   as we deliver   fresh and modern customer experience portal s and mobile solutions   to   Johnson Controls North America customers.    The following areas are expected of the   Technical Lead :   Technical Leadership : Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of scalable web applications using modern front-end (React JS ), back-end (Java/Spring   Boot ), RDBMS (Preferably Oracle) technologies.   Architecture & Strategy : Define system architecture, ensure code quality, and drive adoption of best practices in performance, security, and maintainability.

Management :   Lead   developers   and testers , conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative environment to deliver projects on time.   Innovation & Upskilling : Stay updated with emerging technologies, introduce new tools/frameworks, and upskill the team to   maintain   a competitive edge.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience   required , specializing in computer science, engineering ,   or   related   field   Minimum   8 + years of experience   leading technical teams and   architecting   web   and mobile applications   Strong experience with building complex   web and mobile   applications using onshore and offshore developers   Strong experience with providing technical guidelines   to developers and   performing code reviews    Strong experience with ReactJS and Spring Boot development   Strong experience in design ,   construction, and deployment of REST and SOAP services   Strong experience with   Oracle or comparable RDMBS,   SQL, and creating stored procedures   Experience with cloud platforms ( with a strong preference for Microsoft Azure )   Experience with   Microsoft Azure App Services, REDIS cache, and other   cloud-based development tools   Experience with AI development tools,   e.g.   GitHub Copilot     Experience with   incorporating Okta authentication and authorization into web and mobile applications   Experience with   troubleshooting and   solving   application   memory and performance issues   Experience with WebSphere Portal   (HCL DX) , WebSphere Application Server, and WebSphere Content Manager , a plus   Experience with   JavaServer   Pages (JSP) and   JavaServer   Faces (JSF) , a plus   Experience with Agile/Scrum development practices and concepts   Excellent   c ommunication   a nd   t eamwork   s kills   Experience and   desire   to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment
