Responsibilities
Position Summary: The Occupational Therapist (OT) supports patients in achieving their highest level of functional independence. Responsibilities include evaluating needs related to activities of daily living, ADA accommodations, cognitive and sensory challenges, and other barriers to optimal functioning. The OT develops targeted interventions, contributes to treatment planning, and facilitates individual and group sessions focused on independent living skills in collaboration with the Activities Therapy team. Part-Time up to 20 hours per week w/benefits Education Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Licensure/Certification Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Washington (or ability to obtain prior to hire). Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Experience
Previous experience in behavioral health, psychiatric services, rehabilitation, or related clinical setting preferred. Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and activities preferred.
Qualifications
Essential Responsibilities Assess patient needs and develop individualized occupational therapy interventions. Plan and facilitate therapeutic groups and activities that support treatment goals. Develop age-appropriate programming for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, recreation therapists, and other members of the treatment team. Document patient participation, progress, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely. Provide education and support to patients, families, and team members regarding therapeutic interventions. Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment and respond appropriately during crisis situations. Participate in performance improvement initiatives and departmental quality programs. Support the orientation of new staff and provide guidance to occupational therapy students and interns as assigned.
