Senior Systems Engineer (Network & Mission Systems Integration) Job Summary KBR Mission Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support platform integration of network-enabled mission systems and advanced aviation capabilities for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). The selected candidate will provide technical leadership in the integration, testing, and fielding of mission-critical network and communications capabilities supporting naval aviation operations. This role performs systems engineering analysis across complex hardware and software architectures, ensuring subsystem interoperability and mission effectiveness while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The engineer will collaborate with government, industry, and operational stakeholders to identify requirements, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide implementation strategies. The position requires demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical efforts and translating operational requirements into integrated system solutions. Roles and Responsibilities Lead systems engineering activities supporting network-centric and mission systems integration efforts for NAVAIR programs. Perform functional analysis of operational requirements and develop technical solutions that satisfy mission, performance, cost, and schedule objectives. Evaluate subsystem interfaces and ensure interoperability across communications, networking, avionics, and mission systems architectures. Analyze test results, troubleshoot technical issues, and recommend corrective actions to improve operational performance. Provide technical direction to government and contractor teams during design reviews, integration events, and test activities. Coordinate technical activities among program offices, laboratories, fleet representatives, and industry partners. Assess emerging networking and data-link technologies and provide recommendations for implementation within future mission architectures. Support the development of technical proposals, strategic plans, engineering studies, and capability roadmap initiatives. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. Other duties as assigned in support of mission and business requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Oceanography, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical discipline. Twelve (12) or more years of systems engineering, network engineering, aviation systems, mission systems, or defense acquisition experience. U.S. citizenship. Eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. Experience supporting Naval aviation, weapon system, command-and-control, communications, or network modernization programs. Security Clearance: Active secret security clearance. Selectee must also have the ability to obtain and maintain a final DoW Top Secret security clearance within six months of start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Active Top Secret security clearance. Experience supporting NAVAIR programs. Experience with tactical networking technologies, TTNT, Link 16, VMF, CNI systems, or airborne mission systems. Experience leading Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Systems engineering experience involving requirements development, integration, test and evaluation, and fielding. Master's degree
