About the Role
Are you passionate about sport ? Fuse is looking for a talented PR professional to wor k across a selection of their key sport projects in our current client portfolio. Main day-to-day responsibilities include : Senior client management: Hold senior responsibility for our clients' PR campaigns, from strategy to execution Owning conversations with senior clients throughout PR campaigns Have sensitive conversations with clients if briefs aren’t clear to set the team up for success Strategic thinking: Create PR strategies that maximise newsworthiness and minimise reputational risk Demonstrate a clear understanding of how to apply consumer insights to PR strategies Lead creative PR brainstorms and produce original creative thinking for PR campaigns Effectively articulate creative PR ideas on paper to sell to clients Effectively pitch creative PR ideas to clients to unlock budget Coverage generation: Lead conversations with senior journalists and editors to generate positive PR coverage Hold senior responsibility for the delivery of crisis comms and issues management Adapt reactive statements in real-time, checking and challenging clients and rights holders Talent and ambassadors: Draft Heads of Terms documents for talent/ambassadors Work effectively with agents in all PR project phases, from negotiation to project delivery Effectively manage and resolve conflict situations with talent and agents where required New business and divisional growth: Provide assistance in upselling PR services to Group Directors and client leads to drive new business growth Identify net-new opportunities to sell PR services to sponsorship clients Sell our PR credentials clearly and effectively to senior client leads Collaboration: Work effectively in cross-agency environments, ensuring work remains suitable for PR Collaborate with wider Fuse services to create and deliver integrated campaign responses Hold responsibility for all legal and Health & Safety compliance at PR activations Commercial acumen: Hold responsibility for campaign budgets (Fuse fee and third-party costs) Accurately scope and cost projects against client briefs Hold responsibility for ensuring the team completes time sheets Manage over-servicing and find solutions for inefficiencies in the team Contribute effectively to the annual revenue target for the PR Division Desired skills & experience: You’ll possess an in-depth understanding of the sports PR and media landscape, with an impressive book of journalist contacts. You’ll have significant experience developing communications strategies that have driven positive brand exposure for clients. You’ll have worked extensively with influencers and creators. You’ll have experience developing best-in-class, PR-ready, video and still assets. You’ll have strong people and project management skills and excellent attention to detail. You’ll be a confident writer with the ability to communicate coherently on paper. You’ll be comfortable and effective in conflict scenarios, with an ability to find resolutions that serve both the agency and our clients. You’ll be able to motivate the team around you while ensuring they meet the high standards we collectively set as a team. You will have demonstrable experience working either at a PR and communications agency (applicants from non-sport PR agencies are welcome), in-house at a sports media outlet, at a sports team press office, or a sports rights holder.
