Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., seeks Engineers – Transportation Design in New York, New York: Prepare analysis and designs for structural bridge elements and systems. Coordinate all activities with project manager and other design engineers. Communicate and coordinate with clients and consultants to ensure clear understanding of project goals and expectations. Analyze and understand behaviors of bridge structures. Interpret construction codes. Determine project, design and construction specifications. Coordinate and guide preparation of construction documents with drafting/BIM staff, clients, and internal quality staff. Perform and check calculations, and back-checks plan mark-ups and completed drafting. Perform construction administration services on assigned projects. Respond to RFIs from contractors and subcontractors. Organize and maintain logs and files for structural submittals. Attend construction meetings and visit job-site at major stages and phases. Prepare field reports for clients. Perform full time site-observation for projects as assigned. Perform field inspections when required. Develop drawings and spreadsheets to create new standards. Act responsibly to conserve energy and reduce waste in the office environment. Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field. Requires any amount of experience or knowledge in the following: Utilizing Bridge Inspection Standards to perform structural bridge inspection; Bridge Inspection Reference Manual; AASHTO Bridge Element Level Inspection Manual; MS Excel, Bluebeam and AutoCAD Construction and Shop Drawing; Bridge load rating and analysis using AASHTOWare/Virtis. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. 40 hours/week. The compensation for this role is at least $102,086.00 per year. Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $77,000 - $90,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
